Vanessa Collie Member SDTA, ScotDance Canada

Vanessa Collie's love for Highland Dance began on a hot Saturday afternoon when she saw Highland Dancing for the first time at the old Brampton Fair Grounds. At the age of 5, she began taking Highland Dance lessons and took part in annual medal testing, performances and local competitions. Under the instruction of Christina Thomas, Vanessa achieved success in competitions across Ontario and the United States. She is a member of the Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance (SDTA) and ScotDance Canada. In 1997, Vanessa began teaching Highland Dancing in Brampton and has since began offering lessons in her new home town of Orangeville. She likes to keep classes small to ensure all dancers receive encouragement, attention and the opportunity for improvement. During our classes, dancers are not allowed to say "I can't." Like any sport or form of dance, it is important that the athlete or dancer has a positive attitude!
